$36,000 Worth of Crack Cocaine, Marijuana Seized

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – On Thursday afternoon agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit assisted by uniformed deputies and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics conducted a traffic stop and arrested two females next to the Food Giant on Browder Street in Columbus. Agents seized over nine and one-half ounces of crack cocaine with a street value of approximately $30,000.00, two pounds of Marijuana with a street value of approximately $6,000.00 and over $1,600.00 in cash. Arrested were Kixxie Evans B/F of Laurel, Ms and Michelle Ponds B/F of Forrest, Ms. Both subjects were charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. No bond has been set at this time. Two juveniles ages 13 and 9 were in the vehicle at the time of the stop and were turned over to the custody of the Department of Human Services.
