Video: 5 Injured in Highway 12 Crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A collision happened around 11 A.M. today at the intersection of MS Hwy 12 and Sand Road near Steens in eastern Lowndes County.

A 2000 Ford Mustang driven by 34-year-old Aelisha Horn of Steens was traveling west on MS Hwy. 12 with her two children, a 8 year old male and a 6 year old male. A 2005 Kia Spectra driven by Cody Waterbury, 23, of Millport, Ala., with one passenger, his pregnant fiancee Brook Nethery, 19,  of Columbus, was traveling west on Sand Road.

The Kia failed to stop at the intersection and was hit by the Mustang. All involved in the crash were transported to BMH. The 8-year-old male passenger of the Mustang was airlifted to Jackson with serious injuries. He was in the front seat and not wearing a seat belt.

The accident is still under investigation by MHP.
