MACON, Miss. (WCBI)-If you have been on Facebook or watched the news in the past 24 hours, you probably saw the pulse pounding video of a tornado that ripped through Noxubee County Thursday.

The tornado that came through Noxubee County carved a path of destruction everywhere it touched down.

“We knew it was coming in our direction and we kind of got outside to see if we could see it, catch a glimpse of it and when we finally saw it we realized how big it was and the nerves set in then,” says Tony Sudduth.

Tony Sudduth was at his father’s house when the tornado hit the Macon area around noon. Little did he know, the footage he got on his cell phone would be seen by millions.

“I was really surprised, my phone has been blowing up all day yesterday and today and it kind of caught me by surprise. Kind of tired my phone is ringing,” says Sudduth.

A local farmer and friend, Jack Huerkamp was with Sudduth as he shot the video. They were outside watching the sky when they saw more than a storm cloud.

“Just kept watching the sky until we see something maybe come along and all of a sudden there it was and we saw it came down and then get a little bigger and little bigger and then watched it come through this area where it did all this damage,” says Jack Huerkamp.

His video may be viral, but Sudduth says it is  his community’s spirit that deserves the real credit.

“We’re real fortunate we have a tight-knit community and everybody comes together and everybody wants to help and we are very blessed to have people that are close to each other. Everybody keep us in your thoughts and prayers a lot of people’s lives were turned upside down yesterday and it’s a long road ahead for some good people,” says Sudduth.
