CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) –  It was a day to honor heroes.

Hebron Christian hosted a ‘ Salute to Hometown Hero’s ‘Thursday with students in kindergarten through 12th grade paying tribute to local law enforcement and first responders who help keep their communities safe every day.

” They can come back in their own community and there is a place for them in their community…The ‘ Salute to Hometown Hero’s’ is a way to give back to all the service members of our community, from education or people that work everyday for us…” said Hebron Headmaster Jon Harper.

Craig Wade a senior at Hebron Christian said, “It gets us all inspired. It helps us all to understand how great the community is, and makes us known the reason why we stay in school.”

Students K-12 have been dressing up in different themes all week long as apart of their spirit week. Today they also held a pep rally.
