A UPS Cargo Plane Crashes Killing Two

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WCBI) – A UPS A300 cargo plane crashes in a field outside the Birmingham, AL Airport while on approach.

Flight 1354 from Louisville, KY to Birmingham went down around 5 a-m Wednesday. All roads around the airport have been closed and hazmat teams are on the scene investigating. Several  explosions were reported at the time of the crash. The debris field reportedly stretches for half a mile.

Upon last reports the plane is still burning. The pilot and co-pilot been confirmed dead. No other passengers were on the plane. Despite the size of the crash scene no others structures were damaged.
