Afternoon Accident in Lowndes County

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An early afternoon wreck tied up traffic on Highway 82 East and sent two people to the hospital.

Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene of the accident near the Mississippi Regional Housing Authority.

According to MHP Trooper Criss Turnipseed, 22 year old Robert Morgan, IV, of Starkville was driving east on 82 when his 2007 blue Infinity apparently rear-ended a 2009 black Toyota Camry.  The collision sent 25 year old Elizabeth Lowe of Greenville off the road. A third vehicle, a silver Cadillac driven by 57 year old Caroline Ballard was damaged by flying debris.

Morgan and Lowe were both transported to Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle with minor injuries. neither driver involved in the collision was wearing a seat belt.
