Airbus Posts More Jobs at Mobile Assembly Line

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — An Airbus assembly line under construction in Mobile has posted its latest group of hourly positions, though hiring isn’t expected to take place until early next year.

Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/1G9t6zg) that the aircraft manufacturer is seeking both final assembly line tool shop attendants with starting hourly pay of $13.50 and flight line technicians with starting pay of $16.50.

Airbus is building its first A320 assembly line in the United States at the Mobile Aeroplex. The $600 million facility is slated to come online in 2015 and deliver its first Mobile-assembled aircraft the following year.

Officials expect that it will employ about 1,000 people when at full capacity.
