ALCORN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)  — A longtime Alcorn County Chancery Clerk has announced he will not run for re-election.

Bobby Marolt was elected to his first term as chancery clerk in 2007. He filled the vacant seat after the late Larry McMollum’s death.
Recently, Marolt announced he will not seek re-election of a third term as chancery clerk. Marlot says he is ready to enjoy retirement and time spent with his family.

The only declared candidate for the position is Greg Younger, who was closely defeated by Marlot in his re-election bid in the last election. Younger was a tax collector for the county who retired to run for chancery clerk in 2011.
