Video: American Flag Stolen; Webster Deputies Seeking Suspect

WEBSTER CO., Miss. – (PRESS RELEASE) On the 25th of January 2014 at around 9:21 PM a grand larceny occurred at the East Webster High School. What is believed to be a white male subject stole the new American flag from the school. The suspect was seen on video walking to the front of the school. The same suspect was seen on video with the flag in hand running back towards his vehicle. The Flag is valued at over $600 and is twenty feet tall and thirty feet wide.

The Webster County Sheriff’s Dept. is seeking help in identifying the individual in the video. If you can help ID the subject or have any information on the crime please call the Webster County Sheriff’s Dept. at 662-258-7701.

Sheriff Mitchell also stated that East Webster Principle Bill Brand is taking donations to replace the flag and that a reward is also going to be offered for the recovery of the flag, but the amount is unsure at this time. Sheriff Mitchell stated that theft happens on a regular basis but the theft of an American flag is very unpatriotic. Webster County is known for its patriotism and has a large number of veterans as its citizens. It strikes a strong blow to the hearts of all such people in the community along with the staff and students at the school.
