‘American Pickers’ Seeks Applicants

JACKSON, Miss. — The hit documentary series American Pickers has announced that it is coming to Mississippi and Louisiana in January, and it is looking for applicants throughout both states, specifically interesting characters with lots of interesting items to sell.

American Pickers is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique ‘picking’ on the History Channel. The show follows two of the most skilled pickers in the business, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, as they embark on an epic road trip across the U.S. in search of America’s most valuable antiques from motorcycles, classic cars and bicycles to one-of-a-kind vintage memorabilia. Hitting the back roads from coast to coast, Mike and Frank earn a living by scouring the country for hidden gems in junkyards, basements, garages and barns. The best part of their journey is meeting the unique characters along the way, each with a story to tell about the history of their collection and their own lives. Mike and Frank bring the past to life and recycle America as they go. They use their determination, expertise and charm to strike the ultimate deals and discover just what it takes to re-sell a newly founded antique in a competitive market. American Pickers is produced by Cineflix Productions. New episodes air Wednesday nights at 9pm ET.

“We are thrilled to welcome American Pickers to Mississippi,” said Malcolm White, Director of Visit Mississippi. “Given our state’s rich history and heritage, Mike and Frank are sure to uncover a number of hidden treasures here.”

To be considered, applicants MUST email the show at americanpickers@cineflix.com or leave a message at 1-855-OLD-RUST. Hopefuls must include their name, contact number, and a description of their items. Please note that only private collections are eligible — no retail stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public.
