We’ve enjoyed some relatively dry air the last few days but that is about to change. A big area of high pressure off the eastern seaboard will shift back to the west later this week and that will allow deep tropical moisture to return to our area. Therefore, the odd of showers and storms will be going up from this point forward.
Here is our latest forecast:
Wednesday: A few showers or storms will be possible, especially across the eastern half of Mississippi and west Alabama. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 80s and the wind will veer around to the northeast between 5 and 10 mph.
4th of July: Showers and storms remain in the forecast and once again they will favor the eastern half of our viewing area. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s. Keep your fingers crossed that things will settle down by the time its fireworks time.
Friday – Sunday: Tropical moisture will surge back in from the southeast, and that will increase the threat of showers and storms area wide. Periods of heavy rain will be possible during this time. Highs will be in the 80s while lows will be in the low 70s.
