A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 9:00 AM Thursday for both Tishomingo County & Prentiss County in Mississippi. Sleet and Freezing rain could lead to hazardess conditions on the roadways during the early morning hours Thursday as a winter storm skirts to the north towards the Tennessee River Valley. Sleet and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch of ice and one quarter inch of sleet is possible. Areas with temperatures at or below freezing pose the greatest threat for icy conditions. Drive with extreme caution in Northern MS tomorrow morning before all frozen precipitation switches over to rain.
Central & Southern MS: Thursday morning is currently looking mostly dry, but rain will enter Mississippi by the afternoon and stay with us through the evening. Rain amounts over an inch will be possible, and we may see some strong to severe storms. Right now, the greatest risk for severe weather is in SW Mississippi into Louisiana.
Friday morning will feature rain chances, but Saturday is looking dry and warm as of now. Temperatures this weekend will reach the middle 60s.
