Video: Area House Fires

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) -A few area fires kept volunteer fire departments busy Saturday and into Sunday morning.

Saturday afternoon District 5 Volunteer Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire at 3615 Skinner Road in Oktibbeha County around 4:30.

When crews arrived they saw fire coming up through the floor in several parts of the home.

After an investigation into the cause, it was determined the fire started due to electrical wiring.

STURGIS, Miss. (WCBI) – In a separate case fire crews responded early Sunday morning to a blaze in Sturgis that completely gutted a home on 3199 Highway 12 east of Starkville around 7:00a.m.

District 4 Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by the Longview Volunteer Fire Department and had the blaze under control within the hour.

No one was home at the time in either fire and no-one was injured.
