Video: Arrest Made in C.J.’s Grocery Robbery

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus man is behind bars after being charged with robbery.

Columbus Police arrested Antonio Rashaud Brooks on Tuesday for an incident that occurred earlier this month.  On Jan. 15, a black male entered C.J.’s Groceries on 7th Avenue North  stealing two packs of cigarettes after assaulting the clerk.

On Tuesday, Police received a call that a suspect matching that description was seen in a Northside neighborhood. After a short foot chase, police nabbed the suspect. The store clerk positively identified Brooks as the man who robbed the store.

Bond has been set at 5 thousand dollars with an anticipated court date of March 6.
