Arrest Made in Leake County Homicide

LEAKE COUNTY, Miss. – On July 3, 2014, the body of 27-year-old Courtney Cooke was found in her car on the Natchez Trace Parkway near milepost 143 near Carthage, MS.

On July 7, 2014, Leake County Sheriff’s Office charged 33-year-old Christopher Lemon of Carthage, MS with her murder.
Lemon is currently being held in the Leake County Regional Correctional Facility. Federal Charges are pending.
