NORTH MISS.- (WCBI) Adjustments to billing place a natural gas company under the watchful eye of the Mississippi Public Service Commission.

The group voted Tuesday that regulators should re-evaluate Atmos Energy’s plan to increase connection fees by $2 a month for residents and $5 for businesses.

The utility, however, would cut natural gas charges.

Commissioners, including Brandon Presley with the Northern District, expressed concerns that the plan would raise costs for customers who use less gas in the summer.

Atmos, based out of Dallas, Texas, serves 263,000 customers in our state.
