Video: Baldwyn Man Who Claimed Police Brutality Appears in Court

BALDWYN, Miss. (WCBI) — A man allegedly beaten by a Former Baldwyn Police Officer is in municipal court answering to a number of charges and violations that happened the day of the incident.

Josh Grice pleaded guilty to two charges and had two other charges dismissed and was ordered to pay $436 in fines. According to court records, charges included failure to yield to blue lights, driving without a license, resisting arrest, and marijuana possession.

Grice’s family had posted pictures on Facebook of the man with bruises to his face.

Officer Greg Elder was dismissed from the Baldwyn Police Department surrounding the events of that November day.

Grice’s court appearance today[Thursday] in Baldwyn Municipal Court was to answer charges against him related to the reasons officers stopped him.Those proceedings were continued to a later date.

Meanwhile the family has filed a civil suit against the town.
