Belmont Lands New Manufacturing Plant

BELMONT, Miss. (AP) – A California company will open a recreational vehicle furniture factory in northeast Mississippi, with plans to hire 75 employees over five years.

Villa International, based in Cerritos, California, will invest $250,000 to expand into Tishomingo County, Mississippi. It will pay an average annual salary of $35,360.

The Mississippi Development Authority will loan Tishomingo County $507,000 to purchase the former Falcon Products building in Belmont, and give $300,000 for improvements. The Appalachian Regional Commission, a federal agency, will give $100,000 for improvements. Tishomingo County will give Villa three years’ free rent on the building as another incentive.

Villa makes furniture for more than 30 motorhome makers.

Villa will be near one customer, Tiffin MotorHomes, whose factory is just across the state line in Red Bay, Alabama.
