Video: Big Loss Equals Big Win

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Call it “Biggest Loser – Law Enforcement Edition”.

In January, Oktibbeha County Sheriff Steve Gladney challenged his officers to drop a few pounds and that’s exactly what they did. 22 officers agreed to take part in the voluntary campaign.

When the two month challenge ended last week, the officers had lost 238 pounds. Sheriff Steve Gladney believes that the weight loss has helped others build confidence within themselves.

“I think people, they kind of feel good about themselves you know and they feel better and they want to try and keep it off and even lose some more. So its been good and Its cut down on our sick leave time,” said Gladney.

Transport officer Joel Morse was the leading weight loss officer during the two month contest.
