Bikers Donate to Child Abuse Foundation

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A law enforcement-based motorcycle group does its part of fight child abuse. And if their kick off effort is any indication, they’ve got big things ahead.

The Defenders Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club donated almost $2,700 today to the Mallory Conlee Foundation to help child abuse victims and raise awareness. The group raised the money Saturday during its first Mallory Conlee Motorcycle Ride in Verona. They hope to raise twice as much next year.

The presentation was made to Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson today.

The foundation honors Mallory Conlee, the 2-year-old girl who was killed on State Park Road in 2006. William Matthew Wilson is now on death row for her murder.
