Bill Horton Named Administrator of the Year

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-It was an emotional event last night as Lee County School District officials named the deceased Plantersville Middle School Principal Bill Horton the administrator of the year.

Horton’s daughter, Ginger Murray, her husband and three children accepted the award on his behalf.

Better known as, Coach Horton died in November 2012 from a heart attack.

In his seven years as principal Horton elevated his school to a Title one Distinguished School in 2011, an honor denoting good test scores and high concentrations of poverty.
