NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) – A year after a massive explosion rocks a New Albany plant, it now has the proper permits to reopen.

The state and local officials aren’t sure when that will happen. In January of last year, an explosion destroyed the JSN Biofuel plant in New Albany. The fire was ruled an accident and no one was injured. The blast that could be seen from miles away.

Now, the facility is rebuilt and appears to be ready to open again.

The Mississippi Department Of Environmental Quality says the plant has received all three necessary permits to reopen but the President and Owner of JSN Biofuel, Steve Bolin, hasn’t given the official notice of when that date will be.

The 2014 explosion and fire completely destroyed the building.
