Bo Wallace Expected to be Out 4-6 Months

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI/Mississippi Press) –Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace will undergo shoulder surgery on Tuesday that could keep him out of spring practice, according to a report Monday by the Clarion-Ledger of Jackson.

(Thomas Wells/Daily Journal)
Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace will be forced to miss spring practice due to a surgical procedure on his collarbone.

Wallace, who led the Rebels to a 7-6 record in his first season after transferring from East Mississippi Community College, is expected to be sidelined from 4-6 months. That timetable would make his return some time over the summer.

The 6-foot-5 sophomore passed for 2,994 yards and 17 touchdowns while also rushing for eight scores in 2012. He won the Conerly Trophy as the the top college football player in Mississippi.

Wallace played with the shoulder problem for most of the season after first injuring it against Tulane on Sept. 22. He passed for 151 yards and three touchdowns in the Rebels’ 38-17 victory over Pittsburgh in Saturday’s BBVA Compass Bowl, earning game MVP honors.
