Video: Bond Reduced For Winston Academy Vandalism Suspects

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- Bond has been reduced for two Winston County men charged with destroying and vandalizing Winston Academy.

Vernon Brown, 20, and Hunter Glass, 18, were each charged with 7 counts of burglary and 10 counts of felony malicious mischief. The defense asked the judge to waive their rights to a preliminary hearing.  It’s now going to be bound over to a grand jury.

Hunter Glass was silence when asked about the alleged crime.

Bond was reduced from $500,00 to $225,000.

The prosecution argued that he’s still a threat to society.  Glass’s attorney told the judge that his client didn’t harm anyone and that $500,000 was way too severe.

Wednesday morning,Vernon Brown, 20, also made his court appearance and also had his bond reduced to $225,000.

In February, parents and faculty at Winston Academy were shocked to see desks hanging from ceilings, tons of broken glass, and school trophies completely destroyed.

The two also reportedly took computers, a video camera, cash and other items from the school as well.

No word on when the two suspects will appear before the grand jury.
