Booneville Woman Arrested for Smuggling Meth into Correctional Facility

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Booneville woman was charged for allegedly introducing methamphetamine into a correctional facility.

Mississippi Highway Patrol and Prentiss County sheriff’s deputies arrested 32-year-old Amber Leigh Russell Aug. 29.

The amount of methamphetamine Russell was allegedly in possession of was unknown at the time of this post.

She was charged with possession of meth and introduction of a controlled substance into a correctional facility. She was initially charged with a number of misdemeanor charges, including DUI.

Authorities set Russell’s bond at $7,500 on the felony charge, and $4,000 on the misdemeanor charges.
