UPDATE: Video:Three Men Killed in Nettleton Shooting Identified

NETTLETON, Miss. (WCBI) — UPDATED at 9:50 p.m.–Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley  says 44-year old Joseph Bass of Shannon, and 49-year old Otis Eugene Bass, also of Shannon were pronounced dead at the scene.
33-year old Jamie Guin of Mantachie died at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

***Three people are now dead after a midday shootout in Nettleton

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said four men, two of which were brothers, left the local United Furniture plant in Nettleton at around noon on lunch break. The four men, according to Cantrell, then stopped by a bank, which was followed closely by the spark that ignited an argument.

Shortly afterward, gunshots were reportedly fired, and one individual inside the truck was shot. Another individual was shot while attempting to flee from the vehicle.

That’s when an unidentified  Nettleton Police officer arrived on scene and exchanged gunfire with the shooter, fatally wounding him.

The person shot inside the truck was flown to North Mississippi Medical Center where they died this afternoon.

The names of the three dead and the officer involved have not been released at this time.
