With the passage of a cold front on Thursday, winds will be coming out of the west and somewhat northwest today. That will drive in some drier air. Sustained winds between 5 – 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph can be expected. Hold on to your hats!
High pressure will continue to make it hard for clouds to form in our area, and rain is definitely not in the forecast.
Counties in far North Mississippi will only heat up to the upper 60s today, whereas counties south of Hwy 82 will have a chance to hit the middle 70s. We’ll drop to the low-mid 40s overnight.
Saturday through next Thursday will feature mostly sunny/clear skies. Highs will top out around 80 next week.
The next chance for rain comes Friday of next week.
