Calhoun County Fight Leads to 2 Arrests

Calhoun County, MS (WCBI) A weekend fight leads to the arrest of a Calhoun City business owner and charges being filed against a Derma police officer.

Sunday afternoon Bruce Police were called to an altercation at Buck’s One Stop in Calhoun City.  When the officer arrived, he found store owner Kevin “Buck” Langford and part-time Derma police officer Byron Talford accusing each other of starting the fight. After the officer arrived, Phillip Talford, brother of Byron Talford, and also a police officer in Bruce came to the scene.  Langford threatened to “whip” both of the Talford brothers, and was arrested for threatening an off-duty law enforcement officer.

Langford was released later that same day and filed assault charges against Byron Talford on Monday.  Talford will reportedly resign from the Derma Police Department.
