CALHOUN CO., Miss. – (WCBI)A weekend crackdown nets $10,000 in old fines and court costs.

Now, Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies are warning others that they could be next. The department rounded up 15 people during the weekend that had Justice Court fines dating back a decade a more. It’s part of an effort to collect more than a million dollars in old fines owed the county. Justice Court judges have issued an order that people will pay their fines in full or remain in the county jail. Sheriff Greg Polan says the department will periodically conduct these roundups. In the meantime, if you owe, you might want to settle up now.
