Calhoun School Board Member Steps Down

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Calhoun County is looking for a new school board member.

District 5 representative Whit Casey stepped down Thursday night to spend more time with his family and focusing on his two jobs. The Vardaman resident and Mississippi State grad took office in January 2009 after being elected to the post.

The school board will appoint a replacement and must determine whether a special election must be held to fill the two years remaining on Casey’s term.
