Video: ‘Celebrities’ Help Make a Wish Foundation

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Local children suffering from life threatening illnesses will be able to have their special wish granted because of one organization, a local restaurant and some Tupelo-area celebrities.

Local celebrities donned aprons and were waiters at The Grell restaurant in Tupelo Monday night for their annual “Make a Wish” fund raiser.

Throughout the evening, all tips given to the celebrity waiters were donated to the Make a Wish Foundation, which provides wishes of children with life threatening illnesses.

“It’s nothing like looking at a small child or child of any age up to 18 and seeing a smile on their face and their parents’ faces,” said volunteer Dixie Smith.

Organizers hoped to raise at least $5,000 from Monday night’s event.
