CFO of Columbus Schools Fired

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Chief Financial Officer of the Columbus School District, Kenneth Hughes, has been fired after 18 years on the job.

The district’s superintendent, Dr. Martha Liddell, has made no comment about Hughes dismissal. Hughes is an at-will employee and therefore, can be fired with no explanation. The matter is expected to be reviewed at the May Columbus school board meeting. Hughes has also made no comment.
