COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- You’ve probably seen them on Budweiser’s Christmas commercials, and this December they’ll be in Columbus Christmas parade.

Officials with Main Street Columbus say they’re moving this year’s date from December 2nd to Saturday, December 14th at 5:30pm.

That’s because they’re adding Clydsale Horses to the parade.

“We have been able to confirm that Clydsdale horses will be in our parade this year. They are spectacular horses. I have not ever seen them myself but I’ve talked to folks that have and they’re just really really excited that they’ll be coming to our city so I think that will really enhance our parade this year, said Barbara Bigelow, Executive Director of Main Street Columbus.

Organizers are adding an art contest for grades k-5

They’re also accepting nominations for this year’s grand marshall.

Deadlines for submission ends November 1st.

Requirements for Grand Marshall:

– Name

– Must be 18 years or older

-Provide what individual has given to the community

Send submissions to info@columbusmainstreet.com
