Video: Charges Filed in Fatal Starkville Accident

STARKVILLE POLICE PRESS RELEASE

STARKVILLE, mISS. — The Starkville Police Department has concluded its investigation into a fatal traffic crash that occurred January 25, 2013 on Louisville Street in front of Starkville High School.

The crash involved two vehicles one being northbound, a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Jeree Blackwell (25), of 118 Montgomery Street #5, Starkville, Miss., and the second being southbound, a 2007 Jeep Wrangler driven by Christopher James (22), of 145 Chapel Lane, Madison, Miss.

The collision at 2:02 a.m., resulted in injuries to both drivers and the death of the passenger Deseane Robinson (23), of 2011 Williams Road, Starkville, Miss.

Jeree Blackwell has been arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol 2nd Offense and Suspended Driver’s License. Christopher James has been arrested and charged with two felony counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, resulting in injury and death.

These charges are a result of blood analysis conducted by the Mississippi Crime Lab.

Both individuals have been arrested and released on bond. Jeree Blackwell is out on a $1,551.00 bond. Christopher James is out on a $20,000.00
