Charity Golf Tourney Helps Abused Women And Children

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – It was an opportunity to enjoy a round of golf, while supporting a charity that helps women and children throughout our area.

The annual charity golf tournament for “The Shepherd’s Hands” ministry attracted teams at Tupelo’s Big Oaks Golf Club.

It is the primary fundraiser for the ministry, which helps ministries such as “The Tupelo Children’s Mansion” and other organizations and agencies that help women and children in abusive situations.

Organizers point out that all donations go to those in need.

“That is the thing with charities, you never know sometimes. None of our board members are paid, everything goes right back in and we don’t try to leave a lot of money in the bank , we try to help as many people as we can,” said Tony Palmer, president of The Shepherd’s Hands.

There was also a silent auction. Organizers are hoping to raise $15,000 from the event.
