ACKERMAN, Miss. (AP) – A section of highway in north Mississippi will be dedicated Friday to honor two Ackerman teachers who were killed in a bus wreck in 2011.

Mississippi Highway 9 from the Choctaw-Webster County line to the corporate limits of Ackerman will soon be known as the “Phyllis A. Graham- Steven B. Moss Memorial Highway.”

The ceremony will be 10:30 a.m. at the Choctaw County High School Gymnasium in Ackerman. The Mississippi Department of Transportation will erect signs on the highway.

Graham and Moss were killed when their bus hit an 18-wheeler head-on along Mississippi Highway 8 outside of Calhoun City. The accident happened as they were coming back from a school field trip.

The Legislature approved the road designation.
