Christmas Parades/Events Continue Throughout the Area

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — The sites and sounds of the season were also the center of attention in Amory tonight.
Residents gathered in Frisco Park for the lighting of the tree.

The Amory First Baptist Youth Choir sang Christmas carols. Downtown merchants got into the holiday spirit, offering extended hours for those who attended the event.

Thursday night’s event kicks off their Merry Go Town open house weekend, that will feature good deals, a presentation of the Nutcracker and train rides for children.

ACKERMAN, Miss. (WCBI) — The holiday season is off to a marching start in Ackerman as well. It was an old fashioned feel, with this year’s theme being Hometown Christmas Spirit. Floats covered in glitter and lights, marching bands, and Santa Claus made for a fun night for the entire family.

FULTON, Miss. (WCBI) — O’ what fun was had in Fulton Thursday night. The city held their annual Christmas parade this evening.

Residents lined the streets to see all of the floats, classic cars, the ICC marching band, and of course Santa Claus. This year, the town added a charitable element, welcoming the Itawamba Cruisers.

Parade goers were asked to bring to a toy to donate to the county’s children in need. The Cruisers will now take those toys to the Department of Human Services to be distributed.
