COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) 1963. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Beatle Mania was in full swing and “General Hospital”, the soap opera debuted.

It was also the year that 197 Columbus teens entered the real world as high school graduates.

Now, 50-years later, the Lee High Class of 63′ is reunited again.

Friday afternoon, many class members dedicated a memorial to the 37 classmates who are no longer living.

” You know, I look back on it. Some of  them were really close friends, that we grew up with, we played sports with. After we got married, we were friends in Columbus. And it is sad in some ways, but I try to remember the good things that we had while they were here,” says Class President Bill Brigham.

Friday’s ceremony at Plymouth Bluff kicked off a weekend of reunion events.
