WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — New information emerged Wednesday about an escape at the Clay County Detention Center and there is a clarification about the story.

Marquis Boyd was captured after a police car and foot chase in Anderson, Indiana on Tuesday.

He was not the man who escaped from the Clay County Detention Center on that same day.

Boyd has signed extradition papers and will be brought back to West Point.  Boyd escaped from jail back in June.

Sheriff Eddie Scott says Johnathan Guines is the man that escaped from an open door on Tuesday afternoon.

Guines was being held in a minimum security area and a door was propped open for maintenance.

Guines was being held on a court order and was captured in a matter of minutes.

Scott says an internal investigation is continuing.
