CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — It’s been in the works since this spring and already is a cornerstone of marketing Clay County to potential industries.
Now, it’s about to get an official name.
Clay County officials will unveil the Prairie Belt Powersite during ceremony Oct. 30. The 1,000-acre property is on the northern edge of West Point near a major TVA substation. It also has rail access and runs along Highway 45 Alternate.
Developing and marketing the site was one of the first priorities when the Clay County Growth Alliance contracted with the Columbus Lowndes Development Link earlier this year to start a regional economic development partnership.
The Oct. 30. event is at 5:30 p.m. at the Civic.
