UPDATE: Person of Interest in Custody in Starkville Gas Station Shooting

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The Starkville Police Department says they have a person of interest in custody in connection with a shooting at a gas station which left one injured.

Starkville police are investigating an early morning armed robbery that sent a convenience store clerk to the hospital.

Investigators say it happened shortly before 12:30 a.m., Friday, at the the B-Quik/Chevron Station on Louisville Street.

When officers arrived, they found the store clerk with a gunshot wound from the robbery.

The victim was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. His condition is unknown at this time.

Police are still looking for the gunman, who’s being described as a black man, about 5’9″, with a medium build.

He was wearing a red hoodie and black shoes, and is considered armed and dangerous.
