Columbus Busing Latest

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Lawrence Transit system wants to put the “bus” in Columbus.

The Indiana based company has seen its share of bumps in the road.

Now, it’s a matter of 2 bus stops, but it will be October before we have an answer.

Thursday (9-5) afternoon, Lawrence representatives met with the Historic Preservation Commission at Columbus City Hall.

It needs approval from the Commission and the City Council to put bus stops and shelters at the corner of Fifth and Main, and near Central United Methodist Church, on College Street, across from the “W”.

Thursday, the HPC tabled the issue until its October meeting.
