OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) - A Columbus doctor must serve 13 months in federal prison for running a pain killer pill mill.
Doctor Mark Burtman has been stripped of his license.

In addition to the prison time, he must pay more than 50 thousand dollars in fines and forfeit his home on Canterbury Road in Columbus.

Earlier this year, he agreed to plead guilty to three counts of prescribing Lortab, Xanax and Percocet for no medical reasons.
He faced as much as 35 years in prison and more that one point seven million dollars in fines.
