COLUMBUS, Miss. – Effective immediately, Nickie Nicholson, has been removed by the Main Street Columbus Board of Directors from her role of Main Street Director.

The board has spoken to Amber Brislin, past Main Street Columbus Director and Jan Miller, Mississippi Main Street Division Director and they have agreed along with other volunteers and board members, to step in and handle planning for the 18th Annual Market Street Festival, other spring events and the daily operations of Main Street Columbus.

Nicholson was named in late November to lead Main Street Columbus.

“On behalf of the entire Board, we are all committed to making sure Main Street’s important projects don’t miss a beat,” said Main Street Columbus incoming Board President John Brady.

The Board will meet early next week to discuss the plans for the selection of a new Director of Main Street Columbus.
