Video: Columbus Man Accused in Weekend Ambush Officially Charged

COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) Dino Turner is currently being held at the Lowndes County Detention Center on charges that include aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Columbus Police believe Turner waited for his estranged wife to return to her Byrnes Circle Road home.

Around 2:30 a.m Saturday, she and another male did come home.

That’s when Turner allegedly shot the unidentified male victim in the chest and shoulder with a shotgun before beating him with brass knuckles or a pipe.

He remains in a Jackson hospital this evening.

Turner’s ex-wife did have a restraining order against him.

No bond has been set.
