Columbus Native Acquitted on Child Enticement Charges in Oxford

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – Casey Clayton Holmes, 29, of Columbus, was acquitted by a federal jury on Tuesday for enticing a minor for sexual purposes.

His defense was entrapment by law enforcement.

The sting had officers posing as women online to catch perpetrators. Child enticement convictions carry a 10-year minimum prison sentence .

Holmes is the third individual to be acquitted in the sting. A fourth man is set to argue his case at the end of this month.
