Video: Columbus Officer Honored

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – It was the heroic action to save his co-workers life that led this Columbus Police Officer to be honored with a certificate of appreciation.

Community Relations Officer Ron Richardson was in the briefing room of the police department when he noticed a co worker choking. Without hesitation he sprang into action to save their life by performing the Heimlich man-oeuvre.

“It’s just the work we do everyday and I just happen to be in the right place at the right time to save one of my fellow coworkers life,” said Officer Richardson.

Officer Richardson received a certificate from Chief McQueen as well as a Chief’s coin and a metal of valor.
