COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus man is charged with the burglary of a Main Street business earlier this month.

Columbus police say 41-year-old William Henry Taylor was arrested Tuesday on charges of burglary of a commercial building in connection with the Dec. 16 burglary of the A to Z mart at 12-25 Main Street.

Officers responded to an early morning alarm at the business and found someone had broken the front window. Surveillance video showed someone entering the store, stealing cigarettes and other items and fleeing before police arrived.

After this video aired on WCBI, Crime Stoppers received several tips that help lead them to Taylor as a suspect. When investigators located him Tuesday, he allegedly was wearing the same jacket worn by the person in the video.

Taylor’s bond is set at $10,000.
