Columbus Schools Aid Students Affected by Fire

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) –  The school families of the students affected by Tuesday’s fire already have a plan to help.

It is a district-wide response from the Columbus Municipal School District that will help students and their families with financial and clothing needs. There are also plans to assist with replacing furniture and gathering cleaning supplies.

The students attend three Columbus elementary schools – including Cook, Sale and Franklin. Older students attend Columbus Middle School and Columbus High School.

You can make a financial contribution at any of these schools or drop off a donation at the Brandon Central Services Center.

The district is also partnering with Building Bridges of Hope Foundation to accept financial donations. All donations are tax-exempt and will go directly to the families that have been affected by the fire.

For more information you may contact the administrative offices at each school.

The Columbus Municipal School District has also provided these numbers and contacts for additional information:  Jannette Adams, Grants and Strategic Partnerships (Public Relations), (662) 241-7400 (CMSD Office), 662 386-9482 (cell) or Glenda Buckhalter, Columbus Community Outreach Coordinator (662) 244-3525 (office) or (662) 364-1950 (cell)
