COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – When a child learns to read, one of the first things he picks up is a comic book.

It’s been that way for almost a century now.

Thursday (4-18) night, the Gordy Honors College Forum series continued at Mississippi University for Women with a real page turner.

Bill Roseman paid a visit to the Friendly City.

True believers know Bill as the editor for some of Marvel’s most famous titles including Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the Avengers.

Thursday’s program was titled, “Super Heroes on and off the Page.

Roseman says, ” It’s escapism. It’s inspiration. The costumes are great. The primary colors. The red and the blue. So they are exciting to look at, but beneath all of that, there is a really good message, and it speaks to all generations throughout history.”

Roseman now oversees Marvel Custom Solutions publications as well as monthly comics including Avengers Academy and New Mutants.
